Awesome New Westminster Brunch Spots

New Westminster has some pretty solid brunch spots scattered around the city for those weekend outings with your mates or your family, you will want to check out these great spots to get your brunch fix! Here are a few of our favourites:

Artusi (412 6th St.):

Artusi is a great Italian restaurant in Uptown New West. They offer some excellent brunch selections from Friday to Sunday only from 10am – 3pm. Oddly, this is one of those secret spots in New West that no one seems to talk too much about but should be!  One of the dishes to look for here is the Omelette Di Pomodoro, which is a vegetarian selection but is delightful as it come with burrata (a delicious soft cheese). This spot also has a full on special coffee bar so you can enjoy a well-made latte to go with your brunch; or if you prefer something a little stronger they make beautiful cocktails along with a selection of mimosa such as classic orange, pear or peach!

Sixth Street Grill (413 6th St.):

Located in uptown New West, this place serves a delicious selection of eggs benedicts, hashes and regular breakfasts ALL DAY. They also have other fares such as hamburgers and the like, but we are after the brunchy goodness! We recommend either the crab cake bennies, where the usual English muffin is substituted for a crab cake or the veggie hash; both are covered in hollandaise sauce of course so it’s all good! Sixth Street Grill also has limited bar in case you are looking for a Caesar to go with your Sunday brunch.

Bruncharia (502 E. Columbia St.):

Bruncharia originally started as a small café on Columbia St in downtown New Westminster. They quickly became popular and have since moved to a larger (but not too large) space in Sapperton, still in New West. We recommend the Smoked Salmon & Avocado benny or if you are really hungry try their Power Start bowl, which is a big meal with 3 eggs, meat , bread, vegetables… Pretty much everything you can have for breakfast in one! This spot doesn’t have the most seating so it will get busy quickly on the weekends, it does have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy on the sunnier days.

Angelina’s Dutch Corner (#122 – 810 Quayside Dr.):
Angelina’s is a staple brunch spot in New West! They are located right on the Fraser River at the River Market. Here you can find some amazing bennies (they have 13 to select from!) and a variety of vegetarian options for their breakfasts, HOWEVER Angelina’s serving Dutch fare… You will want to make sure to have some pannekoeken (check out the pronunciation here) which come in both savory and sweet styles.

If you are after the sweet stuff we recommend the banana, salter caramel & whipped cream ones to scratch that itch. Angelina’s also has a wonderful patio that looks out onto the Fraser River and New West’s Boardwalk. Here is a great place to start a lazy Sunday and go for a stroll after brunch in the sun!
