Best Coffee Shops In New Westminster
New Westminster has a lot of great spaces to grab a cup of the good stuff for catching up with some mates, enjoying a crisp morning or even one of those dreary, grey, rainy days. Here are some local favourites to check out!
Coasters Coffee (55 6th St.):
This is one of the newer shops to New Westminster and always has something going on. They are a smaller shop that has a pretty substantial menu of treats, snacks and eats, including daily soups. They make excellent special coffees and have a seasonal drink menu as well, so there is always something going on here. Their matcha latte is a go to as well as their spinach feta roll!
Craft Café (#115 – 960 Quayside Dr.):
This one is GREAT for fall mornings and lazy weekends as it is located steps away from the Quayside Boardwalk. They have some delicious food to go along with their well-crafted coffees. This place makes a wonderful lobster grilled cheese and if you are staying in, they have a quite solid scotch collection!
Serious Coffee (#88 – 900 Carnarvon St.):
Serious is located just outside of the New Westminster Skytrain station and is great for when you want a little pick me up on the way. One of their more unique offering is a stone ground London fog. This one has all the tea in it but ground down so you can just drink it up without a tea bag floating around in it! The process seems to pack more of a tea flavoured punch so give it a go! They also have some snack and morning on-the-go items, which actually include some vegetarian options; which is quite refreshing!
Delicia Café & Bakery (656 Columbia St.):
Located in the heart of the Columbia Strip, downtown New West, this place has a great selection of freshly baked items that seem to be mostly sweet such as chocolate twists and croissants (they also have gluten-free and vegan options). It is a great space to get an excellent coffee (be sure to check out some of their seasonal offerings!) and a little treat to brighten up your day.
Mukasi Coffee Roasters (417 Front Street Mews):
Mukasi is one of the newer kids on the block and in a trickier to find place as it is down on Front St.; which is away from the hustle of downtown Columbia St. They have a nice quiet space that has a cool loft-like area, which makes it almost feel like a speakeasy, to enjoy your well-crafted coffee and pastries. With its location you can also get one to go and enjoy Westminster Pier Park or walk up the New Westminster Quay.
