Great Wall Tea Co. is located in the River Market in New West and also in Lougheed shopping centre. Known for its must-see mosaic wall of tea tins and its carefully chosen variety of fresh, quality loose-leaf tea. They have hundreds of teas to choose from and often samples of new flavours and varieties for folks to try. My go-to tea is a nice peppermint in the afternoon to compliment the tons of coffee I drink most mornings. We’ve also tried their Irish Breakfast Tea which rivals a cup of Barry’s Tea straight from Ireland (iykyk). Ok, maybe it was being in Ireland that made a cup of Barry’s so special. We have also had their Genmaicha with toasted brown rice which we love after any asian dinner at home. When my wife was pregnant, she drank a lot of Raspberry Leaf Tea from here which supposedly helped her in her later stages of her third trimester before birth. Other notable teas we’re their English Breakfast and Chai varieties, really you can’t go wrong if you’re a tea lover. You can buy them in small baggies or even pounds of them or even a single, fresh brewed cup to go. Give them a visit and cross this awesome spot off your New West Bean Bingo card!
