Rocky Point Ice Cream

On the corner of 6th Ave and 5th Street is Rocky Point Ice Cream. Originally a Port Moody success story, they have been in New West for long enough that locals consider it the go-to ice cream shop in the summer. Though they do have ice cream all over the lower mainland though in various cafes and tourist hot spots.

Their ice cream is thick and creamy and just the right ratio of sweet to flavourful. I’m keep it simple with some classic rocky road on a skor dipped waffle cone for some extra crunch. My kid loves the mint chocolate chip flavour on a sprinkle dipped cone of course.

On a nice summer day, people will line up out the door for a scoop or two so be sure to plan around peak times or be ready to wait for a bit. Staff is friendly and efficient and usually local high school students (as it should be).

If it’s your birthday, they have ice cream cakes. If you’re not in the mood, they have decent coffee as well. 10/10 would recommend a pizza-n-ice cream day with kiddos.
