Spring Salmon Eggs-travaganza

Spring is a time for new beginnings for many animals and salmon are no exception. After spending 3 to 4 months growing inside their eggs, many species of salmon are now hatching and ready for their journey. 

From April 18 to 20th, visit the FRDC for a splash of fun with salmon-themed activities and games. Learn all about these incredible fish and the many challenges they face after hatching. 

We hope you’ll hop on in and celebrate with us this spring! 

WHAT:

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm: Conduct a water test in the Fraser River to see how water quality affects salmon.

  • 1:00pm – 3:00pm: Enjoy a storytime, then join in a fun game where you’ll build a redd for salmon eggs and see how it holds up against the flowing water current.

  • Learn some of the many challenges faced by salmon!

WHEN: April 18th-20th, 10:00am – 4:00pm

WHERE: Fraser River Discovery Centre, 788 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC

COST: Includes admission to the Discovery Centre. Specific costs are listed below:

  • Family Ticket ($20.00) – for 2 adults and up to 4 children

  • Adult Ticket ($8.00) – adult 19 and older

  • Senior Ticket ($6.00) – senior 65 and older

  • Student Ticket ($6.00) – student ID required

  • Child ticket ($5.00) – children aged 3-12

  • Children 2 and under register for free

Caretakers are asked to remain with their children for the duration of their visit.
