1. Moody Park

Moody park is a quintessential spot for a picnic and beers in the grass. There’s lots of grass and a sprinkle of trees to layout your blanket and find some sun or shade! There’s are two washrooms nearby. One near the playground and one near the baseball diamond and pool. This a a favourite of our circle of friends because of it central location, various options for picnicking, and a convenient spot for door dash to deliver foods and snacks.

2. Grimston Park

Located in the West End of New Westminster, Grimston Park is a great spot to break out the kuub set and crack open some cold ones. The permited area doubles as a little league baseball park so you may run into some traffic. Theres. is plenty of outfield to spread out and throw a blanket. Bring your own food though because this spot is a little far away from any restaurants or vendors.

3. Pier Park

Pier Park is a waterfront gem with a grassy area for visitors to picnic and enjoy their beers or beverages. At the end of the park is a sizeable grassy area along the Fraser River to look at while you sip on your suds. There is a convenient concession stand and washroom nearby for snack and washroom breaks and parking just across Front Street. Although if you are drinking, it’s best to get there on foot through downtown or by bus or bike.

There are a few other parks such as Hume Park, Sapperton Park, Queen’s Park, and Port Royal (shown on the map) which are also great parks for having a few drinks! Please remember to drink responsibly and park our parks peacefully! Cheers!
